Job description

Working as a Senior Software Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising, providing technical guidance for directing and monitoring moderately complex information systems operations. You will be also implementing machine modifications to increase the capacity of the system and evaluating vendor proposals for purchases of hardware. You will direct compilation of records and reports concerning production, machine malfunctioning and maintenance. You may advise on organizational, procedural, work-flow plans, methods and procedures analysis. Additionally oyu will analyze the results of monitoring the operating systems and recommend changes to improve processing and utilization.

 Requirements

• Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux administration concepts and principles, minimum 4 years of experience.

• Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux system administrator's tools.

• Knowledge of network protocols and networking.

• Good knowledge of system/application levels monitoring tools.

• Knowledge of concepts of source code control/configuration management and how to use tools e.g. SVN.

• Knowledge and experience in one or more UNIX/Linux scripting languages.

• Software problem log tracking tool experience (e.g. ClearQuest, Bugzilla, JIRA) o Test Engineering.

• Experience in Agile development methodologies.

• Maintain system in production, perform application and system level monitoring.

• Respond and follow up (internal) customer inquiries related to maintained systems.

• Provide technical analysis of production related issues.

• Work with engineering and support teams and software development team to analyze and resolve system and application level issues.

• Assist in execution of critical system changes.

• Provide support and feedback for application system level testing.

• Very good English communication skills; written and verbal required.

Additional requirements

• Knowledge about Java will be a plus.

• Knowledge of performance tests methodologies and ability to analyze tests results.

• Ability to determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.

• Ability to learn and understand new products and complex system architecture.

• Ability to understand how different systems interact, including potential problems and difficulties that may occur.

• Ability to assist QA personnel in setting up end-2-end test environments.

• Knowledge of release planning and release management process

• Create new ideas in order to improve application stability and maintainability.

• Coordinate and help in provisioning and migrations from legacy to new platforms.
